The Lexus RX 450h is a luxury hybrid SUV and a cousin of the RX 350 which gets its power from a traditional gas-only engine. Designed for the environmentally conscious buyer that doesn’t want to compromise on luxury, performance, refinement and comfort, the RX 450h is one of the best-selling luxury hybrid vehicles in North America.
All models benefit from luxury exterior features such power adjustable exterior mirrors, LED daytime running lights, LED headlights, LED combination rear lights, wiper defroster, sliding and tilting power sunroof and more. The longer L 450h (+112 mm) model incorporates these elements with more interior space for families that always have too much stuff.
F SPORT exterior modifications to the 450h include premium L-shaped LED headlights, cornering lights, premium LED taillights, skid plates, special front grille and 20-inch alloy wheels.
The RX 450h is equipped with a 3.5-liter six-cylinder engine including an Atkinson cycle which, coupled with the Lexus hybrid system, produces a net power of 308 horsepower. The 450h has an incredible fuel consumption rating of 7.5/8.4 L/100 km (city/highway).
All hybrid models are fitted with a continuously variable transmission which contributes to performance and fuel efficiency. It routes power to Lexus' all-wheel drive system with active torque control, which delivers reliable and lively performance on Canadian roads. The driving mode selector and other enhancements provide a personalized driving experience.
Each RX 450h has an impressive interior capacity that adapt to the needs of the family. The 450h has a capacity of 1,580 mm when the rear seats are folded down, while the 450h L extends it to 1,658 mm with its third row folded down.
Other standard interior features on each RX 450h include: leather-wrapped steering wheel with paddle shifters and shift knob, premium nine-speaker audio system, smart key with push-button start, Amazon Alexa compatibility, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay integration, Bluetooth and smartphone connectivity, six USB ports, increased safety features and much more.
The Lexus RX450h is a powerful, spacious, very luxurious SUV that provides everything you expect and more from an upscale sport utility vehicle. The biggest difference here with its competition is that it is a hybrid. The great part is that you won’t know it’s a hybrid until you check the fuel economy.
