The 2025 Lexus NX brings a comprehensive suite of advanced technology features that transform...
Proudly made in Canada, the 2022 Lexus RX is designed to meet the needs of the nation's drivers. Intelligent safety, smooth handling, outstanding efficiency and satisfying power are just the start of the model lineup. You can choose between standard and the lengthened 'L' models to accommodate your lifestyle, and hybrid and all-petrol options make the choices even more irresistible.
It's no secret that the 2022 RX has more to offer than the competition. Here, we compare the RX to the 2022 Acura MDX.
The 2022 Lexus RX leads with more power and outstanding efficiency
The 2021 RX features two powertrains that offer all-gas and hybrid power. The RX 350 and 350 L feature a 3.5-litre six-cylinder engine that generates 295 horsepower in the RX 350 and 290 horsepower in the 350 L. The hybrid RX 450h and 450 L include the 3.5-litre six-cylinder with an electric motor to produce a net 308 horsepower.
The MDX uses an all-gas engine is a 3.5-litre six-cylinder that generates 290 horsepower, which is slightly less than the RX 350 and the same as the RX 350 L. However, the RX 350 achieves a better highway and city fuel economy than the gas-powered MDX.
The RX advances to deliver even more outstanding fuel economy and better power with its hybrid models. The RX 450h has a fuel consumption rating of 7.5 L/100 km in the city and 8.4 L/100 km on the highway and 8.1/8.4 L/100 km for the 450h L. The MDX doesn't even come close with a rating of 12.6/9.4 L/100 km. It makes more sense to have a better-powered and more efficient RX hybrid model
Acura announced that the MDX will soon have a Type S variant with slightly more power the 450h, but this model’s availability is still uncertain as it is still in the “future vehicles” of Acura’s website.
The 2022 Lexus RX features interior comfort
When you enter an RX, you find a world of luxury and technology. This suddenly gives way of comfort with 1,120 mm of front legroom that eclipses the MDX. And you will find more front head room, making every journey a place for relaxation and focused driving. The nimble characteristics of the RX create an enjoyable experience, whereas you will have to settle for more bulk in the MDX.
