The 2025 Lexus NX brings a comprehensive suite of advanced technology features that transform...
The 2022 Lexus RX offers a unique combination of style, performance, comfort, safety and more in four outstanding models. The lineup offers standard length and "L" models that extend roominess, meeting the needs of many lifestyles. Also included are gas and hybrid models that present the right blend of power and efficiency. Lexus also offers a series of optional packages that help you personalize your RX even more.
We are excited about how the RX stands against the competition. Here, we compare the RX to the 2022 Mercedes-Benz GLE.
The 2022 Lexus RX masters efficiency
The RX lineup offers powertrains that hit the right spot in the segment for output and efficiency. The RX 350 and RX 350 L feature a 3.5L V6 that produces 295 horsepower in the 350 and 290 horsepower in the 350 L. This powertrain produces more output than the 255-horsepower GLE 350. Although the GLE 450 and subsequent AMG models produce greater amounts of power, there are significant sacrifices in price and efficiency.
Despite differences in horsepower, the RX has a feature none of the GLE models have: hybrids. The RX 450h and RX 450h L offer two high-efficiency options. The 450h delivers 7.5/8.4 L/100 km (city/highway) of the best efficiency in this comparison. The 450h L follows closely at 8.1/8.4 L/100 km. If 308 net horsepower with this much fuel savings is plenty for your needs, then the RX 450h models are waiting for you.
The 2022 Lexus RX has superior pricing
The Lexus RX, with all of its luxury and features, includes a starting MSRP of $57,250. The GLE prices itself in a much different class. The entry MSRP for the base GLE 350 skyrockets to $69,900, nearly $13,000 more than the RX 350.
We crunched some numbers, and we determined which RX models are under the cost of a base GLE 350: RX 350, RX450h, and RX 350 L. As a matter of fact, both the RX450 h and RX 350 L are nearly $10,000 in lower initial MSRP than the GLE 350! The RX 450h L enters at essentially the same MSRP of the GLE 450.
