The 2025 Lexus NX brings a comprehensive suite of advanced technology features that transform...
The Lexus RX is a unique option in its segment. It pairs refinement, luxury, performance and comfort in a stylish package that stands out. Moreover, it offers unparalleled reliability compared to its rivals. A Lexus RX is an investment that will last for decades to come, and it is proudly assembled here in Ontario.
This year, the popular RX gets a complete redesign. It is sportier and more efficient than ever before thanks to a new platform, new engines, and new exterior styling that will put it at the forefront of the segment.
Here, we take a look at the 2023 RX’s hybrid engines.
Enhanced efficiency in the 2023 Lexus RX
The RX’s new GA-K platform not only offers a low centre of gravity and optimal weight distribution and a series of high-performance characteristics like an all-new multi-link suspension design. It also gets four new powertrain options, including a Plug-In Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) model.
The new RX focusses on efficiency thanks to a pair of hybrid engine that both offer the best balance between power and efficiency. The first one is in the RX 350h AWD and it uses the fourth-generation large-capacity fuel-efficient hybrid system. It is composed of a 2.5L inline-4 engine mated to a high-output battery and an electric motor. It outputs a total of 246 horsepower and 233 lb-ft of torque. Thanks in part to its advanced continuously variable transmission, it uses as little as 7.1 L/100 km (combines city/highway) so you can take full advantage of performance without using too much fuel. The RX 350h AWD can zip from 0 to 100 km/h in only 7.6 seconds.
The RX will also feature a PHEV model so drivers can travel on short and long distances without using a drop of fuel. The details regarding this 450h+ plug-in hybrid model for the Canadian market will be shared at a later time.
Performance and efficiency go hand-in-hand
The new RX also adds a high-performance model: the RX 500h F SPORT Performance. It uses a new hybrid electric system that integrates a high-torque 2.4-litre turbo engine mated to an electric motor in the front, and an eAxle unit that integrates a high output electric motor in the rear. Thanks to this advanced configuration, the RX 500h F SPORT Performance provides low-end torque for improved performance and quick acceleration.
The new 2023 Lexus RX is the best RX yet. Stay tuned for all the details related to this new model.
