Lexus will introduce a new electric vehicle concept at the upcoming Tokyo Auto Show next October. Based on the LF-SA concept introduced in 2015, the concept in question will be a prototype of a "tall, hatchback" vehicle in a square style according to Lexus CEO Koji Sato. We also expect to see the traditional Lexus spindle grid on the new electric vehicle.
According to Sato, the model will not only be a glimpse of Lexus' future electrification technologies, but also an insight into the visual language of its upcoming models.
In July Lexus announced its intention to electrify its entire model range with an electric, hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain by 2025. It is expected that the electric motor we will see in the prototype in Tokyo will serve to power the next Lexus electric vehicles.
We will be able to give you all the details in a few months. In the meantime, discover the new Lexus hybrid engine models including the Lexus RX 450h.
