The 2025 Lexus NX brings a comprehensive suite of advanced technology features that transform...
The Lexus RX is a luxury SUV series that features conventional and hybrid power, flexible capacity, efficiency and a starting MSRP that makes them among the most competitively priced in the luxury industry. When compared to other luxury SUVs in its class, many of the RX line’s features and starting price points become even more attractive. Here, we compare the 2020 Lexus RX to the 2020 Mercedes-Benz GLE.
The Lexus RX begins with a lower height of up to 85 mm compared to the GLE, which helps lower the center of gravity and improve stability when cornering and spirited drives. It also features distinctive styling features that take it a notch above German-manufactured vehicles in terms of design.
The 2020 Lexus RX has sensible power and efficiency
The RX series offers two advanced engines that offer effective and efficient petrol and hybrid power. A 3.5L six-cylinder gas engine produces 295 horsepower and 268 ft-lb of torque in the RX 350 and 290 horsepower in the RX 350 L. The hybrid RX 350h and RX 450h feature a gas/electric 3.5L six-cylinder engine that generates 308 horsepower.
The gasoline engine achieves a fuel efficiency rating of 12.2/9.0 L/100 km (city/highway) on the 350 and adjusts to 13.1/9.4 L/100 km on the longer 350 L. The RX hybrids provide a satisfying rating of 7.5/8.4 L/100 km on the 350h and 8.1/8.4 L/100 km on the larger 450h L.
The 2020 Lexus RX has a much better initial cost
The GLE 350 4MATIC includes a 2.0L turbocharged four-cylinder that generates 255 horsepower with 273 lb-ft of torque. The GLE 450 4MATIC upgrades to a 3.0L turbocharged six-cylinder with 362 horsepower, and the AMG GLE edition provides more.
Although the GLE 450 and AMG have more horsepower, the starting MSRP of $87,800 of the AMG GLE and $72,800 of the GLE 450 is much higher than the RX 350 L’s MSRP of $66,250 and the RX 350’s $56,050. The starting MSRP of the hybrid RX 350h is even $58,800 - and you will save on fuel costs. With the GLE, a little more horsepower comes at a much greater price.
