The 2022 Lexus NX gets new powertrains under the hood

The Lexus NX gets new engines for 2022. The base engine is a naturally aspirated 2.5-litre which provides 203 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque in the NX 250. This engine is paired with a new eight-speed automatic gearbox.

For more all-gas power, the new 2.4-litre turbocharged engine in the NX350 delivers 275 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. The new NX 350h model gets more oomph with 239 horsepower. This engine uses less fuel compared to the NX 300h model it replaces with a 6.5 L/100 km city/highway combined rating.

The all-new NX 450h+ plug-in hybrid variant matches a gas engine, an electric motor and an 18.1-kWh battery to output a total of 302 horsepower. This PHEV Lexus NX provides a full 58 kilometres of range on all-electric propulsion. You can use a 240V power source to fully recharge it in only 2.5 hours.

The interior of the 2022 Lexus NX is completely revamped

The Lexus NX’s cabin is all new for 2022. It uses new textures and materials, but also includes a new standard 9.8-inch or optional 14.1-inch centre touchscreen that features Wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto and over-the-air updates dominate the dashboard.

Drivers who prefer voice commands can benefit from the Lexus Virtual Assistant that lets the driver and passengers control several features just by using the “Hey Lexus” command.

The 2022 Lexus is safer than ever

The new NX also gets the new Lexus Safety System+ 3.0 for the 2022 model year. This includes many new driver assistance features like the dynamic adaptive cruise control with radar, intelligent high beams, left turn oncoming vehicle detection braking and many more are included in this suite.
