The 2025 Lexus NX brings a comprehensive suite of advanced technology features that transform...
The sun is out, the air is warm and the open road is calling…and what better way to set out on a road trip at the helm of a Lexus? Their comfortable ride, great performance and well-equipped interiors make them the ideal companion for a road trip.
Of curse, with a Lexus – just as with any car – there are a few important checks to do before you set off for the lakeside cabin or campsite.
Tire check
Your tires are your primary contact with the road, meaning it is imperative you ensure they’re good to go before you set off. Check to see that they are properly inflated and better yet, watch them over a couple of days before setting off to make sure there are no slow leaks. This goes for your spare tire as well, and if you don’t have a spare, familiarize yourself with any tire repair tools you may have on board.
Top it up
Next, make sure your wiper fluid is topped up for those spats of inclement weather you’re bound to encounter, not to mention the bug residue that’s oh-so-prevalent during summer. Make sure your coolant levels are up to snuff as well because chances are your air conditioning is going to be working overtime and that does put a strain on the cooling system.
Stay connected
Even if you do have wireless device charging, be sure that all the necessary cables for keeping your favourite devices charged are on-hand. On longer drives, we want to make sure that the kids in the back have a properly charged tablet to fall back on if the scenery isn’t quite as interesting as it was two hours’ prior. Not to mention that these days, our phones can be our lifeline and we don’t want to be caught stuck on the side of the road with that dreaded “low battery” message or dreaded red battery icon on our display.
After that, it’s time to enjoy the open road in your Lexus!
